These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your access to and use of the Comet Coatings website and any enquiries, quotes, referrals, bookings or services arranged through it. By using this website, submitting an enquiry, or requesting a quote, you agree to these Terms.

For clarity, Comet Coatings is operated by Runbook Consulting Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”).

1) Who We Are and What We Do

Comet Coatings provides information and lead handling for concrete coating and concreting-related services, which may include (but is not limited to) epoxy flooring, flake systems, resurfacing, sealing, and related preparation works (“Services”).

We may provide Services directly and/or connect you with independent subcontractors or trade partners who provide Services.

2) Quotes, Estimates and Site Conditions

Quotes and estimates are indicative only until the site is assessed and the scope is confirmed. Pricing can change due to factors including (but not limited to):

Concrete condition (cracking, contamination, coatings, moisture)

Access constraints

Required preparation (grinding, repairs, levelling)

Product selection and system specification

Weather and curing conditions

Changes requested by you

You are responsible for ensuring you provide accurate information (including measurements and photos) when requesting a quote.

3) Subcontractors and Trade Partners

You acknowledge and agree that:

We may share your enquiry details (including contact details, site address, photos and scope notes) with subcontractors and partners for the purposes of assessing your job and providing a quote.

Subcontractors and partners may contact you directly to arrange inspections, confirm scope, and quote.

4) Responsibility for Subcontracted Work (Important)

Where Services are performed by a third-party subcontractor or independent contractor, you acknowledge and agree that:

All workmanship, warranties, defects, delays, omissions, and outcomes are the responsibility of the subcontractor, not Comet Coatings or Runbook Consulting Pty Ltd.

Comet Coatings and Runbook Consulting Pty Ltd are not liable for any loss, damage, claim, cost or dispute arising from work completed by a subcontractor.

Any agreement for works (including the final scope, price, warranty terms and schedule) is between you and the subcontractor, unless we expressly confirm in writing that Comet Coatings is the contracted service provider.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

5) Bookings, Scheduling and Access

If a booking or site visit is arranged:

You must provide safe and reasonable access to the site at the agreed time.

You must ensure the area is cleared where required (vehicles, storage, furniture and obstructions) unless otherwise agreed.

If access is not available or the site is not ready, additional fees may apply (including wasted visit fees) as determined by the contracted service provider.

Cure times and return-to-service times are estimates only and vary by product, thickness, weather and site conditions.

6) Variations and Changes

If you request changes to scope, finish, colours, or timing after a quote is provided, this may be treated as a variation and may result in a revised quote, timeline, and/or additional costs.

7) Payments

Payment terms are set by the contracted service provider (Comet Coatings and/or the subcontractor). Deposits may be required to secure a booking or materials. If payments are processed through third-party payment providers, those providers’ terms may apply.

Unless required under Australian Consumer Law, deposits may be non-refundable once scheduling, labour allocation, and/or materials orders have been confirmed.

8) Cancellations and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must provide reasonable notice. Late cancellations may incur fees, particularly where labour or materials have been allocated. The applicable fee (if any) will be determined by the contracted service provider.

9) Customer Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

Provide accurate information for quoting and scheduling

Disclose known site issues (moisture problems, prior coatings, chemical contamination, rising damp, etc.)

Keep children, pets and unauthorised persons away from work areas

Follow post-installation care instructions (including curing and cleaning guidance)

Failure to follow care instructions may affect performance and any applicable warranty.

10) Warranty and Defects

Warranty terms (if any) are provided by the contracted service provider for your job.

Where work is completed by a subcontractor, any warranty claim must be made directly with that subcontractor. Comet Coatings and Runbook Consulting Pty Ltd do not provide workmanship warranties for subcontracted works unless explicitly stated in writing.

Natural variation in concrete and coatings can occur, including minor colour variation, aggregate exposure differences, hairline cracking, and surface texture variation. These may not constitute a defect where within normal tolerance for the system installed.

11) Website Use and Intellectual Property

All content on this website (text, images, branding, graphics, layout) is owned by or licensed to Comet Coatings / Runbook Consulting Pty Ltd and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, republish or distribute our content without written permission.

You may use this website for lawful purposes only and must not:

Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or systems

Introduce malicious code

Scrape content or data

Use the website in a way that disrupts service availability

12) User Submissions (Photos, Forms, Messages)

If you submit photos, plans or other materials, you confirm you have the right to share them. You grant us permission to use submitted materials to:

We will handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

14) Disclaimers

This website and any information provided through it is provided on an “as is” basis. While we aim to keep information accurate and current, we do not guarantee the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that information will be suitable for your specific project without a site assessment.

15) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, business interruption, or reputational loss.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the website or our role in handling an enquiry (excluding non-excludable ACL rights) is limited to the amount paid to us (if any) for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

18) Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Victoria unless otherwise required by law.
